Priorities And God

July 11, 2010

When life gets to the point that it seems we have no time to do what needs to be done; we need to stop and look at what our priorities are! Where does God fit in? Are we so busy taking care of the urgent needs in life we forget the important ones? If you claim to be a Christian then God should always come first if you will give him his rightful place in your life he will help you with all the other things. God is the creator of time so why can’t we trust him to provide the time we need to get the rest of our urgent things done. I think the biggest problem in the USA and most of the world is our priorities are messed up. For most people their priorities are work, kids, spouse, God but the way it should be is God, spouse, kids, work.

If we will work on getting our priorities straight we will start seeing things change. One of the things I have seen are the kids being lifted to the highest position like they’re some royalty and the parents their servants. It is our job as parents to train a child; not the child train us (Proverbs 22:6). We are called to discipline our children and teach them to function in this world. A child will never reach their full potential if we never give them boundaries; most likely they will just wind up in prison. You can look in any city and see where we as parents are failing at raising respectful and helpful children. Go to school and talk to teachers that have been there for several generations and listen to the disgust in their voice because of how kids have changed and we no longer allow the schools to discipline, it’s more like a request not to do something instead of being in authority and saying you will not do this on my watch!

We as American citizens and the people of the most high God have sat by and allowed the powers of darkness come in and destroy what was once a God fearing nation. It is amazing in a sickening kind of way how the little insignificant changes all stack up to what we have today. The people that are controlled by satan have had a louder voice than the Christians have. They have removed God from school and public offices and are trying to remove him from our money. They have made it against the law to discipline our children and the list goes on. It makes us wonder why God doesn’t help us like He used to.

2nd Chronicles 7:14 tells us if we will humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways that God will heal our land. I don’t know about you but I am ready to see this nation healed and standing as a strong Godly super power in this world of darkness. I believe this all starts with us as the citizens getting our priorities straight, getting our relationship with God fixed and at election time allowing God to direct our vote, not how much will this candidate give me.
